The Fourth MIKTA Speakers’ Consultation, Bali, 15-17 September 2018
The Fourth MIKTA Speakers’ Consultation was convened in Bali, 15-17 2018. The meeting took upon the theme “Creating Peace and Prosperity: the Role of Parliament”.
Opened by H.E. Mr. Bambang Soesatyo, the Speaker of the Indonesian House, the meeting was attended by the Speaker of Parliament from the Republic of Korea, Turkey, and Australia. Speaker of Parliament of Mexico was represented by the Mexican Ambassador to Indonesia, H.E. Armando G. Alvarez.
During the meeting, Speakers of the Parliament discussed the following issues:
- Creative Industries to Support Inclusive Economic Growth (Chaired by the Republic of Korea);
- Maintaining Peace and Security: Empowering the UN (Chaired by Turkey);
- The role of Women in Peace and Security (Chaired by Australia)
- Maritime Cooperation for Sustainable Growth and Prosperity (Chaired by Indonesia)
