The 3rd MIKTA Development Cooperation Network Meeting Agree on Joint Capacity Building Project in the Agricultural Sector

Bali, Indonesia – The five MIKTA member countries (Mexico, Indonesia, South Korea, Turkey and Australia) met in Bali on 24-26 May 2023 in the 3rd High-Level Meeting of MIKTA Development Cooperation Network (HLM MIKTA DCN) forum. This activity is one part of a series of activities under Indonesia’s Chairmanship in MIKTA 2023.
Since its establishment in 2021, the HLM MIKTA DCN meeting has become a forum for the five countries to exchange views on international development cooperation. DCN is also a means for MIKTA to contribute in supporting the achievement of sustainable development goals (SDGs).
The Director General of Planning and Evaluation of AMEXCID Mexico, the Deputy of Development and Partnership Strategy of South Korea’s KOICA, the Deputy of TIKA Turkey (present virtually), and representatives of the Australian Embassy in Jakarta attended the meeting.
The Indonesian delegation was led by the Director General of Multilateral Cooperation of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs as well as officials from International Development Cooperation , and the Ministry of Finance (Indonesian Agency for International Development).
MIKTA countries stressed the importance of strengthening the role of MIKTA DCN in overcoming global challenges in development cooperation. This meeting discussed multi-stakeholder approaches and trends in development cooperation in the future.
At the end of the meeting, all MIKTA countries agreed on a joint statement which, among other things, emphasised the importance of multi-stakeholder partnerships, inclusivity, and accountability for the effectiveness of development cooperation.
