“Strengthening MIKTA’s Partnership: Interfaith-Intercultural Dialogues and Combatting Terrorism” Malang, East Java, Indonesia, 17-19 October 2018
“Strengthening MIKTA’s Partnership: Interfaith-Intercultural Dialogues and Combatting Terrorism” was convened in Malang, East Java, Indonesia, 17-19 October 2018. The meeting invited expert from MIKTA experts in interfaith and intercultural dialogues, as well as terrorism prevention. Attended by academicians, various religious groups, and government officials, the meeting discussed ways to enhance harmony among different faith and culture, as well as effective methods to counter violent extremism.
Senior Advisor to the Minister on Socio-Cultural Affairs and Indonesian Overseas, Ministry of Foreign Affairs, H.E. Mrs. Dewi Wahab, officially opened the meeting.
Experts from MIKTA countries also had the chance to visit religious sites throughout Kota Batu and Malang City to experience the harmony among differents faiths. At the end of the meeting, the document “Malang Call for Tolerance and Peace” was agreed upon.
