International Women’s Day event (Canberra, March 8, 2016)

The Australian Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade (DFAT) and women from the MIKTA embassies in Canberra marked International Women’s Day with a special event in Canberra on 8 March 2016. At the event, Australia’s acting Senior Official for MIKTA, Mr James Wiblin, provided an update on what MIKTA was doing to promote gender equality as one of our seven priority themes. DFAT Senior Specialist on Gender Equality, Ms Sarah Goulding, also share with guests the DFAT Gender Equality and Women’s Empowerment Strategy, which was launched by the Australian Minister for Foreign Affairs, the Hon Julie Bishop MP, on 29 February 2016.
